I picked out the perfect outfits for our Grand Lake family photo. A new teal dress with flower details for me, a denim dress with eyelet details for Sophie, and a shirt with zero details for Joe. Then I left them all at home.  On the last evening of our getaway, I spied an art gallery/boutique still open after dinner, and I asked Joe if we could go in–just to check. Maybe I could find something more trendy than a blue flannel for our first Grand Lake family photo. I spied a soft, blush pink sweater hanging in the back of the store, and I asked the sales associate for the price. As she looked up the item in the computer system, she noticed Sophie. Our conversation went something like this:"Aww! What a big baby!""Yes, she's our little chunk-a-munk.""How old is she?""Eight months.""She has such a big head!""Oh! Yes, she does. I think she is in the 90th percentile for everything. Her weight, her head--""-- I have a granddaughter, and she was in something like the fifth percentile for all that. She's tiny. She's a little over a year, and I bet she doesn't weigh as much as your little girl. But, her mother is like that. Her mother is just tiny. She's 5'5" and only 107 pounds. Just tiny."The next morning, we took family photos. Joe wore a blue sweatshirt. Sophie wore a pink sweatshirt. I wore a blue flannel.^The "Nuptial Knoll" where we said our vows. ^The main lodge's fireplace. Sophie was an instant pyro. ^Would not stop touching the tree. Loved the tree. ^The rocking swings on the front porch of the lodge overlook both lakes. I could sit there all day. ^She was a natural horseback rider. Obviously. ^Joe danced with Sophie in the same spot we had our first dance as a married couple. We love you, Grand Lake Lodge. See you next year!
